Mission Summary

The Runtime Infrastructure team is building Motional’s Gen2 System monitoring framework. We are seeking a Software Engineer that will help shape the technical vision, design, and implementation for our framework, enabling high performance autonomy components to reliably and safely operate on our vehicles at fleet scale.

As a Software Engineer, you will work with the team to design and implement a framework to enable a high degree of monitoring and diagnostics on our vehicles that makes them safe.

Supporting one of Motional’s core values – “Safety is our bedrock”, You will have direct contributions ensuring the monitoring of our cutting edge Autonomy algorithms, vehicle platform, and compute infrastructure, making sure our vehicles operate safely. This infrastructure interacts directly with our safety mechanisms, metrics, logging and event analysis tooling.

What you'll be doing:

  • Use your expertise and experience to build the future of our on-vehicle monitoring and diagnostics framework
  • Contribute to designs and work together with specialized Motional teams to determine the needs of the system and how to best meet those needs within a distributed system.
  • Work across the organization to set priorities and accomplish Motional’s goal of offering a world-class robotaxi, which is safe and built for everyone.

What we're looking for:

  • You have experience developing performant and well tested C++ and C code.
  • You are passionate about building robust distributed software.
  • You care about holding yourself and your teammates to a high standard of development.

Bonus points (not required):

  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR and other tools for embedded computing platforms such as DaVinci Developer, DaVinci Configurator and other Vector tools.
  • Knowledge of Python.
