We are seeking talented Senior C++ Engineers to drive products that will shape the fast-moving Autonomous Vehicle (AV) industry, deliver a turnkey, fully autonomous driving system. Our team is working on applying state of the art research in machine learning, computer vision, 3D data processing and sensor fusion to solve challenging and exciting problems in the calibration domain. 

Sensor calibration is one of the foundational building blocks of an autonomous vehicle (AV). In simple terms, sensor calibration informs the AV how its sensors are positioned on the vehicle within a high degree of accuracy. This allows the AV to perceive the world and its position in the world from multiple sensors, such as LiDARs, radars, cameras, and inertial measurement units (IMU) by bringing their readings into a common coordinate frame.

The candidate will join our team to build out the next generation technology stack to enable high throughput, un-supervised, scalable calibration products for autonomous vehicles. This includes maintaining, improving our factory indoor calibration products to ensure highly accurate and reliable calibration; and developing our outdoor calibration products that are quick and reliable to perform calibration in a wide variety of operating environments at deployment sites and on the road.

What you'll get to work on

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to develop and maintain the calibration software stack for our autonomous vehicle fleet.
  • Create and maintain development tools and infrastructure for autonomous vehicles.
  • Perform prototyping, field testing, and system configuration.
  • Productive and continuous feedback between stakeholders and end-users for improvement of the development lifecycle

Required Skills and Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in professional software development in infrastructure
  • Strong experience with modern C++ features, CMake, Boost and unit testing frameworks
  • Experience working with sensors such as cameras, LiDARS, RADARs, autonomous technology, robotics, or other relevant experience 
  • Experience developing 3D graphics intensive applications for visualizations or simulations
  • Experience managing, profiling, and optimizing experimental pipelines

  • Passionate about scalability
  • Experience with Bazel and Jenkins or other CI tools or cloud-based applications
  • Expertise in one of the following field: probabilistic robotics, state estimation, computer vision, SLAM, machine learning, or multi-modal sensor calibration
